MODELING PORTFOLIO PHOTOGRAPHY

AURORA PHOTOARTS TAMPA BAY PHOTOGRAPHY AND DESIGN

Our modeling portfolio photography services give models the effective portfolio photographs that they need to market their modeling careers. Models can book these portfolio photography sessions by the look, with a three look minimum, or in special package deals, such as our default six look modeling portfolio photography session.
Why six looks? Well, because six looks are the minimum that any model needs to start a portfolio. Modeling composite cards, also known as comp cards or zed cards, need at least five looks for a default card, being a headshot on the front with the name of the model and four different looks on the back, along with their stats.
Each look shot during your modeling portfolio photography session include headshots, mid shots, and long shots, which are available if the compositions enable them. This gives the model a variety of photographs to sort through as they build, add to, or maintain the modeling portfolio that they have to have to market themselves with.
Models absolutely need an effective modeling portfolio in order to market themselves in their careers and to book work as a professional model. The modeling composite card, which is like a highlight card of the overall modeling portfolio, also requires that a modeling portfolio be established before the model can even begin to think about having composite cards designed and printed. Without an EFFECTIVE modeling portfolio, a portfolio which is relevant for making the model as marketable as possible, the model does not have a career, and cannot book work. The key, too, is to invest in a modeling portfolio which is more effective than the modeling portfolios that competing models have. You have to have a better modeling portfolio, and this is not the time for using snapshots or skimping of the quality of photography, as the model is only as good as their portfolio!
All modeling portfolio photography work is guaranteed for quality, as the point is that the model obtains usable photographs for their portfolio. Also, unlike other modeling portfolio photographers and photography companies in the Tampa Bay area, we charge by the job, and not by the clock; rushing any photography session undermines the quality of the work.
If you are in the market for a modeling portfolio in the Tampa Bay area, you need to keep in mind that a portrait photography studio is NOT going to be able to give you a professional, effective modeling portfolio? Why? Because portraits are not appropriate for modeling portfolios. Also, modeling portfolios are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to create in a portrait studio. The reason is that the great variety in a modeling portfolio, the better, and effective modeling portfolios are done on location, using a variety of different locations to backdrop the pictures. You do not want tired matte backdrops in a portrait studio making all of your pictures look the same. Get it done right.
Modeling is a competitive business, and you need a good, relevant portfolio to stand out from the other models and to book work, regardless of if you are an independent model or if you go through agencies. Cut corners on your modeling portfolio, and you will not be able to compete against professional models who have invested in real modeling portfolios. Get it done right, and don’t handicap your career.
Models who want effective, and appropriate, modeling portfolios which will NOT handicap their careers need to avoid so-called sexy photographs, which include, but are not limited to, glamour, boudoir, lingerie, modeling in skimpy bikinis, and modeling in provocative poses. Sure, these are legitimate fields of modeling, and we can provide these type of pictures, but we are going to make sure that the model is completely aware of the risks associated with such work, and that if they choose to specialize in these modeling fields, that they will cripple their marketability in mainstream modeling work. These types of modeling photography are high-risk, and are NOT for beginners, and are NOT for models who do not know what they are doing. We would never recommend that any new model start out there portfolio with these types of photographs, as we want to make the model as marketable as possible. Any photographer or photography studio who tries to convince new models that they need “sexy” pictures in their modeling portfolio either do not know what they are doing, which means that they will cannot give you what you need, or do not have your best interests in mind, which means that they are dangerous. Sometimes, it is a mix of both to one degree or another, and we recommend staying away from such unethical and unprofessional photographers. The entire point of investing in a professional modeling portfolio is to make yourself as marketable as possible.
We care about models, we care about their modeling careers, and we care about our clients. Sadly, some of our competition is only about the money and/ or exploiting women, and they need to be avoided because they will hurt or cripple your modeling career!
Aurora PhotoArts Tampa Bay Photography and Design specializes in modeling portfolio photography, and we know portfolios. We also know about the target market of models, and what is appropriate for those market portfolios. This is knowledge, and experience, that most photographers or photography studios in the Tampa Bay market do not have. Our objective is to give you the most professional, relevant, effective, and appropriate portfolio that you can obtain for your modeling career. Talk to us and we will explain what this all means.
Please call us for rates and availability. All modeling portfolio photography services are guaranteed for quality. Terms and conditions apply.
For the most effective modeling portfolio photography results, we recommend that models pay extra for a make-up artist, which is not included in any of our modeling photography services. Rates vary for make-up artists, and we have several that we can refer to you at no charge from us.
